Contrast

Contrast

What happens when a child wakes up and the father she loves is no longer there?

Where does all that love go?

What happens when a woman wakes up and the man she loved has disappeared from her life?

Or when a woman is carrying a child, imagining a life together, and suddenly finds herself alone?

What happens when someone who was part of our everyday life becomes a memory?

When the hand that held ours is no longer there?

When love has nowhere to go?

What happens to all the words we never got to say?

The questions that never found answers?

The future we had already begun living inside our minds?

Maybe life shows itself through contrast. We know belonging because we have felt its absence. We know what it means to be held because we have known what it is to be left. We know freedom because we have felt the cage. And sometimes we discover our value after placing something precious in hands that did not recognize what they were holding. Rejection can be strange that way.

It can hurt us deeply and somehow bring us closer to ourselves. It can remind us who we are when someone else cannot see us. And what a powerful teacher heartbreak can be. A broken heart writes. Longing becomes poetry. Anger finds a voice. Grief becomes art. Pain becomes creation.Rumi knew longing and separation.

And somehow, the ache of one human heart became words that crossed centuries and found their way into ours. Maybe pain itself is not the gift. Maybe it is what becomes possible through the opening. One journey ends. Another quietly begins.

Sometimes we cannot see the beginning because we are still grieving the ending. We are still looking at the door that closed, while somewhere, another is beginning to open. Maybe that is life. Rain and sunshine. Love and loss. Holding and letting go. And perhaps the broken heart is not only where something ends.

Sometimes, the broken heart is where the light enters. Thank you to the many closed doors, and to the ones that are opening
